The Last (Natural) Bear on Pine Valley Mountain

as told to Budd Iverson by Mitt Moody Dixie National Forest was established near the turn of the century, probably about 1903. Mitt Moody was given the job of being its first ranger.

As I age I see the importance of tradition and the jobs that come with each changing month.  I have been looking forward to the tradition of gathering cattle off the mountain ranges that surround New Harmony.

I was out hiking near Gunlock Utah the other night and found this inscription.  G A Lincoln Hudson NY 1859...Maybe someone doing an internet search will find this picture and explain to me the story of this person....I have tried to search this name and have come up with nothing.

Elizabeth2 LEE (Mary1) was born 24Apr 1851 in Parowan, Iron, Utah. Elizabeth died 17Jun 1912 in Thatcher, Graham, Arizona, and was buried in Thatcher, Graham, Arizona.
